SRK's Honest Take on Media Scrutiny!

When his son, Aryan Khan, was arrested in 2021 in relation to the Mumbai narcotics bust at the Cordelia cruise, Shah Rukh Khan had to deal with a difficult time. Even though Aryan was ultimately exonerated of all accusations, the actor was deeply affected emotionally by the experience. Paparazzo Varinder Chawla recently recalled Khan's tearful admission that he didn't want to avoid the media, but that "I am also a father, and whatever wrong has happened in the media" had hurt him.

 

Varinder Chawla mentioned an event around 2022–2023, before Pathaan was released, in which one of his photographers caught an intimate moment of Shah Rukh Khan and his family in a media conference.

Shah Rukh Khan called Varinder after he removed the video and expressed gratitude for what he had done. After learning that the video had been removed, the Dunki actor clarified that he had been removing himself from the media because of Aryan Khan's issue. Khan went on to say that while he had no intention of avoiding the media, the inaccurate representations in the media had a significant impact on him as a father.

 

During their roughly three to four-minute talk, Varinder said he came to the realization that, as a father of two, he could relate to Shah Rukh's suffering. He saw that Shah Rukh's phone conversation mirrored the distress of a parent who has to deal with his son being falsely accused.

Shah Rukh Khan has been in the media frequently after, though not as frequently as he did prior to this case.
