Veteran actor Viju Khote passes away in Mumbai!

Veteran actor Viju Khote, known as Kaalia in Sholay, passed away in the early hours of 30 September. While the cause of his death is unknown, the actor was 77-years-old and breathed his last at his home in Mumbai.

 

Viju Khote is well-known for his work in the Hindi as well as the Marathi film industry. Khote has been working in in the industry since 1964, with his most popular role being Robert in Andaz Apna Apna and Kaalia in Sholay. Having worked in over 300 movies across industries, Viju Khote also made an indelible impression on television for his role in the 1993 sitcom Zabaan Sambhalke.

 

Viju hails from a renowned family as he is the son of acclaimed stage artist Nandu Khote. Yesteryear actress Durga Khote also belongs to the same family lineage.
