Mamta Kulkarni Breaks Silence on Mahamandaleshwar Controversy!

By taking sanyas at the Mahakumbh, former actress Mamta Kulkarni became more spiritual. Due to internal conflicts within the community, she was later ousted from her position as Kinnar Akhara's Mahamandaleshwar. The actress, meanwhile, recently refuted reports that she paid Rs. 10 crore to become the Mahamandaleshwar.

In a recent media interview, Mamta Kulkarni refuted claims that she paid the head of Kinnar Akhara a substantial sum of Rs. 10 crore in order to become Mahamandaleshwar. "Forget Rs 10 crore; I do not have even Rs 1 crore with me. My bank accounts are sealed. I had to borrow Rs 2 lakh from somebody to offer as 'dakshina' to my guru when I was made Mahamandaleshwar," she told on an emotional note.

 

The actress from Karan Arjun stated that because three of her flats have not had any repairs done in the past 23 years, they are in poor shape and have termite infestations. ''I cannot describe the financial crisis I am going through," she revealed.

 

The former actress was also questioned about her understanding of the Vedas and whether she had studied them, emphasizing that the title of Mahamandaleshwar is given to those who are knowledgeable about them. She responded by saying that showing off one's knowledge breeds arrogance. In order to show her comprehension, she then also repeated a Rigvedic mantra, to which the crowd responded with applause.

 

At the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Mamta Kulkarni was designated as a spiritual guru and a Mahamandleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada for the uninitiated. She was also known as Yamai Mamta Nandgiri and did 'pind daan' at Triveni Sangam Ghat.

However, she was later ejected by Rishi Ajay Das, the head of Kinnar Akhada, who said the actress was hired without his knowledge and without adhering to any Akhada or religious customs.
