Bhushan Kumar opens up on delaying in Aamir Khan-led biopic on his late father Gulshan Kumar!

In a recent interview, Bhushan Kumar disclosed that his mother is not totally on board with the Aamir Khan-led biopic about his late father, Gulshan Kumar, and that the film needs some script changes.

According to earlier reports, Bhushan Kumar and Aamir Khan were negotiating a biography about the late Gulshan Kumar. Bhushan confirmed this in a recent interview on his next projects, adding that while the movie wasn't formally announced, everyone was aware of Aamir Khan's involvement. Changes to the script had caused a major delay, he explained, adding, "I can't make a film about my father if my mom isn’t convinced about it."

 

Bhushan Kumar told a media outlet that his mother's worries forced them to make changes to the original script they had written for the Gulshan Kumar biography.

He clarified that although the project had not been formally publicized, Aamir Khan's involvement was well known, and Khan continues to show interest in it, describing it as one of the best scripts he has recently seen. But according to Bhushan, the script had to be altered since his mother wanted the story conveyed from a different angle.

He went on to say, “Obviously, I cannot make a film on my father if my mother is not convinced about it. Once she is convinced, which she will eventually do, the world will get to witness a very inspiring story. For now, we are reworking the script.”

 

Kumar made it clear that the biopic would update some parts of his father's life rather than completely erase it. He clarified that the movie will highlight lesser-known Gulshan Kumar occurrences, some of which aren't even accessible online. His mother wants the world to know about these unknown tales of his father, Bhushan added.
