Sarah Michelle Gellar's Behind-the-Scenes Secret!

When Sarah Michelle Gellar posted a behind-the-scenes image from the set of the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, it recently created a commotion. Gellar's humorous post caused some unanticipated controversy during her visit to the production, even though her legendary character Helen Shivers won't be returning.

During a media chat, Gellar disclosed the incident. She said that she couldn't help but take a picture of a director's chair and post it online while she was seeing her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., who is in the next movie.

 

“You would think that being in my position, I know what rules are on sets when they say closed sets, you know,” Gellar confessed. “I posted the picture, and then I found out they hadn’t announced they started filming yet. Yeah … that was an ‘Oops! My bad!’”

 

The company hurried to set up a social media presence for the movie when she humorously tagged the picture, "Scooby Doo 3 coming soon." Gellar dismissed the incident with a laugh, referring to it as a "cool picture" and thinking back on the fond memories of going back to the franchise where she and Prinze first crossed paths.

 

Gellar has remained involved with the series, giving director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson continuity guidance even after her character died in the original 1997 slasher. “I have kind of an unofficial job title,” Gellar told People. “I’m always the one telling her, ‘That would happen,’ or ‘That wouldn’t happen with those characters.’”

 

The new ensemble cast for the next sequel includes Jonah Hauer-King, Madelyn Cline, and Chase Sui Wonders. According to reports, Jennifer Love Hewitt, who co-starred with Gellar in the first movie, is also in negotiations to return.
