Samuel L. Jackson opens up on Oscar Nominations!
NEWS RATING
Samuel L. Jackson is a fantastic example of how to be unfiltered in Hollywood. The actor openly stated that receiving a nomination is a greater honor than simply being nominated.

Jackson stated in a media chat, “We’ve been in the business long enough to know that when folks go, ‘It’s just an honor to be nominated,’ No, it ain’t,” adding, “It’s an honor to win.”

The seasoned actress revealed that a lot of people even overlook performances that are nominated for Academy Awards and occasionally even the winners. The star of Django Unchained revealed that when someone is nominated, either most people forget about it or they talk about remembering it.

The actor went on to say that most of the time, people do not volunteer to participate in the tournament. He further revealed, “I didn’t go in there so I could flex. ‘Let me do my scene, so you can remember who I was.’”

Jackson informed the publication that when a nomination is announced, many find it hard to remember who won the award in the first place. They often inquire whose movie they were nominated for.

The actor has only received one Academy Award nomination in his ten-year career, for his role in Quentin Tarantino's 1995 film Pulp Fiction.

It was in 2021 that Jackson received an honorary Academy Award. The actor claimed in an interview with Vulture last year that it did not "feel honorary" and that instead, he felt as like he was receiving an Oscar.

Jackson explained that he had earned it by working hard. He could also list four other situations in which he should have been nominated or won, but he was fine with that. The Marvel star, “It’s mine. I got it. My name’s on it.”
